New Beach Build

Came out really nice. Our fireplace on our back patio is in the corner also. The chimney is actually the corner postcto holdcthe door up but we did both at the same time. We r all brick also. But we matched everything. I like the corner setup. Urs is really nice. The kitchen came out really nice too. Good luck with the pool build. Good times!

Footers were poured, some equipment put out on the new cement pad and the stairs were spray-painted. We chose to move the the stairs a little off center and have the bench on the opposite side so our back will be to the afternoon sun. We have three days of nice weather before it rains again, so fingers crossed we see a liner by Wednesday...

The equipment is bigger than I imagined, we are going to have to build some sort of partition to hide the ugly. I'd love any suggestions if you guys have any!

I like the idea of the bench there. Smart thinking!

NOW is time to get that test kit moving! You will want to test your fill water so you can have the chemicals ready to put in that new liner!!

Know that your SWG will not work under 50 degree water temp. (or 60 depending on the SWG) So have a easy source for liquid chlorine or bleach. If you go the bleach route make sure it does not have any pretty smells or the splashless kind. We are finding that some of the bleach is now back down to 6% :( so make sure to check. Walmarts "pool shock" is still 10% and Targets house bleach is still 8.5% at the last check. Now if you can get your hands on pool store chlorine using their "carboy jugs" you are sitting pretty!

Today saw the steps and bench begun, some backfill put in, a trench and pipe laid and we finalized where the water feature is going to be.

Sounds good, will look into chlorine sources. It was in the 40's today, but up to 80 by Thursday. Gotta love the beach in the springtime!

Rain continues to plague us here at the beach, so concreting the bottom must wait until Thursday. The electrician was here all day working on the lights for the pool and fountain. He must have tripped the the GRI and this started to happen....

Oops! The equipment pad doesn't look as messy as I thought it would, although we are hoping some creative landscaping will hide a lot of it. If we ever get to that point...

I am loving the big stairs and bench, I see a lot of evenings spent here with friends and family.

Not sure liner can go in this week (It was promised last week, and then this week, but now looking like next week if the rain will let up a little. I think the coping has to happen in a few weeks right? To allow time for the backfill to settle?

So.....no liner this week, but looking good for next week. We did get the concrete down on the bottom though.

I have a question about the pool ladder. In this next picture you can kind of see a grounding wire come out of the ground and the base of the ladder a little farther onward. I initially thought I wanted the ladder on that side because that is where I see the kids going back and forth, rather than the back side. But I do NOT like it that close to the staircase, so I moved to base over to see if it was better over there. Is there a rule though about having it too close to the diving board? The board will go where the pump currently is. Or should I move it to the other side....is that even still possible at this juncture?

No new pics today, they finished cementing off the steps and seat and took out a tree. The gas got hooked up to the heater, waiting on larger gas meter now. Liner is scheduled for Thursday...I am excited. I’ll be sure to be back with those pictures! I have a tan liner for those of you wanting to see pictures of that color.

Graphix is a great pool package-

& btw Kim
- check the build pics, thats what “”real” open top forms”, look like.

That is great to know. Our PB says he is the only one in the area licensed to build with them. It has a full lifetime warranty, even labor! It is one reason we went with this PB.
