New (and first ever) Pool! Dallas, TX

Well friends if there’s one thing I’ve learned it certainly doesn’t hurt to speak up if something doesn’t seem to be going right.

We passed our final inspection and are now waiting on a date for plaster! ?

So I talked to the owner of the company. He was super nice and is going to take care of all the issues for us. He also told us 1/3 licensed pebble tec installers in north Texas lost their license so we are down to two. The company is considering offering stonescapes. Has anyone had experience with that before?
Have not heard 1/3 in Texas are no long authorized applicators. However did hear one of the main applicators is/or will be no longer applying Pebble Tec. I believe that might only leave one big player in that market and they are backed up. (You catch the name of the applicator installing your finish?) Some argue the pebbles come from the same source, other say this company or another has tighter quality control on pebbles and impurities like iron etc. Some say Pebble Tec applicators are trained etc. In most cases, maybe one member of the team went to some place in AZ and installed pool finishes free for a week for Pebble Tec. IMO, it comes down the applicators on a given day. In another words, it more how the finish is applied than the pebble product. that's just one persons opinion.

Thanks I really appreciate it!

TOMORROW??? Like when the sun comes up next?? OH YEAH!!!

Can you be there when the truck shows up to make sure they have YOUR plaster on the truck with any extras you added. We had a couple of pools where they sent two trucks to the wrong houses  One they caught because they PO was home to check. The other one...........got the wrong plaster and it had to be redone :(

Is the owner going to have the overflow pipe extended? That is unreal they did not do it in the first place  unreal!!

Yes the owner sent someone out on Friday and he took care of everything, it was great! I think the owner did a nice job making sure everything got fixed.

Yes we are so excited!! My husband and I will both be home tomorrow so we are going to try to make sure everything looks right - official pebble sheen in the blue granite color. I hope it all goes well and then it will be done!!!

IT IS TOMORROW!!! Are they there yet??? LOL

I have a little job for you while you wait. Fill out your signature. Put kind of pool (inground plaster) size in gals, kind of filter (sand, DE, cartridge), any special features, and what test kit you have.

I can't remember if you have test your fill water yet. If not do so and throw those numbers up here so we know what you are starting with. Do NOT bother testing CYA as that has to be added to the water.

I will have to go back and read how to test my fill water! But I will figure it out and put that on here!

They got here at 6:30am haha it was a bit of a shock but we are grateful! I’m hoping it’s actually pebble sheen like the guy told me it is. I hate that I’m a skeptic but I want to make sure we get what we paid for!

I wish I could read the bags but this is the picture of what’s happening. If they hadn’t told me pebbletec installers were way behind I wouldn’t be skeptical that they are here today!

Thats Classic Plaster & Tile, out of Grapevine, they do PebbleTec AND Quartzscape.
Thank you so so much!! I guess that means we are getting what we paid for - thank you!

(Or hopefully that’s what that means. I don’t know what quartzscape is.)

They are the one I was referring. Look at the bags, they should have writing on them indicating what product. I believe the dyes they use are not supplied by the vender. Make sure they cover your coping.. no mess..

Watch out for the rain..

Oh shoot you’re saying these are the guys that will no longer be installing it? ?

Is it weird to go out in the alley and ask to look at the bags while they’re all out there..this is awkward haha.

They covered everything as far as I can tell. I posted a picture below, if you think that looks right and have a chance let me know! It says pebble sheen on it but I am not sure about the dye

I see the tape but not the plastic. Prob covered. Don’t be shy, they will be helpful. Ask about the dye/pigment. It would interesting to see what they are using with all the discussions on colorfastness.

Looks like you are in good hands. Make sure to follow startup procedures if you are doing it yourself. Brush brush brush.
