New 9000 Gallon IG Fiberglass SWG Pool

Sister moved to new house with 9000 gallon IG fiberglass pool, sand filter, SWG. Attempting to start them off using TFP method. They were having trouble holding FC in pool with SWG, started SLAM yesterday. Turned off SWG, using liquid chlorine for SLAM. Numbers this morning:
FC: 13
pH: 7.4
TA: 100
CYA: 70

Tested at 26PPM FC before bed last night. 13PPM seems like high OCL, especially because water is clear. Just looking for some reassurance to continue with SLAM or if there is something else we may be missing. Thank you!

With that level of overnight FC loss, there are organics in that pool. Be sure they look at all the hiding places.

Stay with the SLAM. It works.

Does your sister have an idea of how the previous owners took care of the water? Any chemicals left over?
Just want to confirm it *is* a chlorine pool, right??

There was some dichlor shock left from previous owners. Can a pool with SWG be non-chlorine?

Some people are coerced by pool stores to use algaecides that contain sodium bromide. That converts the pool to a bromine pool.
