Neighbor renting out their "Poolside Paradise." Renters keep coming to my house.

We are building our pool now. Tile stage. But we have no intent on renting our pool. We do want to build a casita to possibly rent, but don’t want to include pool.

We do have a Jeep we rent on TURO tho. I think it’s great so far. (since May) We live in a touristy town and they pickup/drop off at airport or grocery store. It pays the monthly payment!

We have a neighbor who’s been renting their place for a long time and just added the pool to Swimply. I was thinking of renting it for my soccer or baseball team. It’s probably the best pool ever! No exaggeration. Their pictures aren’t even that great. The right waterfall is a slide! I have a ton of photos when we used it from old owner.

Amazing pool! But renting it out is a crime shame. Previous owner must be freaking out. Current owner is nuts to allow strangers to jump off that cliff. I don't see that working out well. I pity the neighbors.

I don't even let my friends drive my car, I can't imagine renting it out. This is all just not for me. I should stay out of this thread, but it's like watching a car race... really just waiting around for the accident!! 🤪

Unbelievable what people will do. Just awful. But I blame Swimply as much as the crooks. Their canned answer to the problem was pathetic. They need a good class-action lawsuit lesson, to make them step up and take some responsibility, and liability, for solving the problem, instead of just a bunch of worthless lip service (which is all I heard).

Another reason to lock your gates to the pool and cover it with motion-detection cams.

I never did figure out what was going on, but we didn’t have any uninvited visitors last year. I did notice that my neighbor down the street didn’t have their pool listed last year, but the weird thing was at least one of the people had my specific address. The houses on my side of the street are a four digit number ending in “0” and on their side they end in “5” so it’s not like you could easily get the address wrong. In addition the person’s name they had was not my neighbor’s name.

I’ve been meaning to put signs up, this just reminded me. “Beware, rabid, hungry piranhas.”

I just checked Swimply and my neighbor’s pool isn’t listed. Perhaps they had a bad experience or came to their senses. I did find a waterfront home that was recently for sale (2 years ago?) about ten minutes away that has their pool for rent for $20/hour! They’ll even let you use the dock for $10 extra. What an enormous liability. I can’t imagine this is in any way a good idea, but I guess as long as they aren’t hurting anybody else and it’s a legit listing, it’s up to them.
