I just tested my water using the kit and I want to confirm if I really should use Borax. After logging my test results in the Pool Math App tonight, it’s saying I need to add 6.8oz of Borax (20 Mule).

I’ve read mixed messages on here about Borax. I’ve never used it before. I did buy some from the grocery store a few weeks ago to have on hand. Should I use this? If so, do I just pour in the powder while pump is running? Or I have an aerator, will that help to raise the PH instead?

Current PH: 7.5
Target PH: 7.6

Current TA: 110
Target TA: 50-90

My pool right now doesn’t get much if any sun lately and I haven’t added anything in a week or two now as it’s not getting sunlight and the water has been staying around 50 degrees.

Per the testing tonight, I do have to add 3 cups of chlorine tonight.

The pH and TA are fine. Manage the pH within the 7's. The TA will land where it lands.

Focus on FC / CYA ratio. Your FC is too low. That is an issue.
