It's a brand new pool and my electrician did all the wiring at the bottom part breakers etc.an my current situation is the pentair superflo vst is running but directly with a change we made at the wiring so it could start. Please I've been looking for a simple video or instructions on how to connect relays that this guy left and obviously connect the Egg receiver and transmitter units later on. My equipment so far just Pump; Pentair clean and clear cartridge filter; Thermeau prestige heat and cool; Intellichlor unit; Silencer Air blower

B,

If no one else chimes in, I'll do what I can, but I am more of an EasyTouch and IntelliCenter kind of guy. I do not have one of the new IntelliCenters.

Why is your pool builder not doing this?

What kind of background with automation do you have?

It is not hard to do, but does take some understanding of how things integrate together.

Do you have the Installation manual?

The good news it looks like your SWCG transformer is wired correctly.

The bad new is I can't see any RS-485 cable from your VS pump. I need to know when the pump was manufactured, as that will make a huge difference in how it is controlled.

The first thing you want to do is connect each High Voltage relay to the associated plug on the main board. You need to follow the little twin wires coming off the top of each relay up and find the little two pin connector at the end of the wires. The board should be marked. The relay in the upper left is called the Pump/Filter relay, then comes Aux 1, Aux 2, Aux 3, and Aux 4. You need to connect each relay to the main board, even if not used.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I don't have background on pool automation but I do have background in information technology so with instructions I could do programming myself probably. My concern is cable wiring on the panel. Here is a pic of my pump box label maybe that's the date you need. Thanks a lot in advance

This thread should tell you everything you need to know about connecting the relays and VS pump RS485:

B,

Your pump should have the RS-485 capability. You will need the SuperFlo VS RS-485 cable, which is not the same cable that goes with the older SuperFlo VS nor the IntelliFlo.

Edit.. RS-485 Automation Wiring Kit (P/N 356324Z - Black),

Thanks,

Jim R.

Sorry Jim now I am really lost. So I need to buy an additional kit or cable in order for me to setup my pump on my new Intellicenter box. I was told my bundle had all necessary pieces for my equipments automation. See the attached label picture. Thanks a lot for all your inputs

B,

The IntelliCenter does not come with a control cable for the SuperFlo VS.

The IntelliFlo VS comes with an RS-485 cable, but the SuperFlo VS does not come with a cable. Or at least it never did in the past.

In all your "stuff" do you see a cable that looks like it would connect to the small connector on the side of the pump control head? The other end of the cable just has 8 individual wires.

Show us some pics if you think that might help.

This is what should be in your 521905 IntelliCenter kit.

The following items are included in the Pentair IntelliCenter 5PIC60 Control System kit:

  • Pentair IntelliCenter Control System Outdoor Control Panel (mounted in the load center)
  • Pentair IntelliCenter Control System Load Center with Pentair IntelliChlor Transformer
  • High power wireless connection kit.
  • Pentair IntelliChlor IC60 Cell Kit
  • Temperature Sensors: Water Sensor (25 foot cable, o-ring and hose clamp) and Air Sensor (with short cable).
  • Pentair IntelliCenter Control System Installation Guide

Thanks,

Jim R.

Is this the Rs 485 cable you mentioned for the pump. I see on the label of High Power wireless link p/n 523434 that writes rs485. If this is the way it goes then where does the other end plugs in?

Apparently that cable that fits on the interior high power wireless link box where it marks rs485 is for connection to screenLogic Interface protocol adapter which I don't have and don't need "I hope". Here is a picture where I just discovered that.

B,

That cable may be used for RS-485, but it has nothing to do with your SuperFlo VS pump.

Just want to make sure that you actually have a SuperFlo VS pump, and not the normal IntelliFlo VS pump???

Thanks,

Jim R.

Jim here is the picture of what I have
Everything in this picture appears to have to do with the wireless adapter. Then there is the temp sensor. I don't see anything that looks like a pump comms cable.

My intellicenter came with nothing to connect any peripheral devices, only with the wireless adapter and the temp sensor for water and air. All interconnecting cables came with the other devices, pumps, valve actuators, SWCG.

Based on what I am understanding from Jim, there is an additional cable required to connect the Superflo VS pump.

Sorry Jim, I missed that part. Yes, from what I can see, that should be everything needed to connect wirelessly to his home network.

I am hard wired, and I actually had the first gen wireless adapter that everyone said didn't work. Clearly it didn't since they replaced it. So I will not be much assistance with getting that set up, sorry!

I got the cable for the Superflo vst pump..now a couple of question. I was told the Orange is the new Green so I guess the yellow is power. And where on the main board of the Intellicenter should I connect this end
