Hello , I have a saltwater 8000 semi inground pool 15x26x54 oval. With Hayward Aqua-Trol/T-Cell-5 (20k gallons)

My pool is 1.5 years old. And first cell went out in 6 months, bought a generic cell, and used it but then Hayward finally replaced cell, so changed out to the new one ,that one lasted 5 months, so I put the generic one back on and it is working but never has read salt right.

I have cleaned with recommended muritic acid and water. Tested cell by getting a bucket of salt pool water, put cell in it and plug in controller. And no bubbles what so ever. Yes salt level is good.

Took to pinch a penny and they tested my water (good) and the cell using their high salt level and cell did nothing verifying it's bad.

The controller box shows me everything but salt level show 0.

So considering changing systems. Looking at the circupool rj 30 or 45.
What do yall think of it. Is DSP legit.

Any other systems I should consider?

Your T5 cell should have been a T9 or T15 for longevity, but I would question your water since you failed two cells in 1.5 years. How do you test and what are your current test readings? DSP is legit and the Circupool units are well accepted. Get one that is 2 to 3 time larger than the size of your pool. That will ensure it doesn't have to work too hard to create the CL you need.

I do believe the system is have is to small after all the reading i have done. It's the one the pool company recommended. I use a digital salt and ph reader. Use a 6 way liquid test kit . I use pinch a penny as bach up if anything don't read right.

I'm going to contact hayward and see if my system can take a bigger cell. If not I'm going to go with the RJ 45. Think the upgrade for $10 ends today but have read they always have the sale.

Also, i read on the discount salt site. That they are not affiliated with Hayward or sell there products.
But I went to the DSP site and contacted support and told them I had a hawyard aqua tro t cell 5. And neen to up grade. Which RJ system do they recommend. They said i should go with T cell or bigger. That was odd because they said not affiliated or sell them. That is why I asked if they are legit.

I would want a 3X system in Vero. For 60k that leaves the Circupool RJ60 and Pentair IC60.

With no automation concerns, the RJ60 is hard to beat.

A 2X system will allow you 12 hours runtime during the peak season, which is our usual goal with oversizing, but your loooooooong seasons will still require alot of runtime hours per year and a RJ45 (ish) will be depleted much sooner for you than me up north. Like. Years sooner.

Going larger returns more lifespan than it costs. Look at a RJ60 as double the lifespan of a RJ30, for not double the cost.

Oooooooo. Select the RJ45 and upgrade to the 60 for $10 or whatever the bogus forever 'sale' is right now.

The RJ20 upgraded to the RJ30 is $1139, or you can buy the RJ45 upgraded to the RJ60 for $1519

33.5% more cost equals 100% more lifespan. That math is hard to beat.

What they mean is if you were running a T cell that their cell will fit into the same space that the Tcell was in and they use the same fittings so it's a

Yes we run our pool 8 to 10 hours a day in summer and 4 to 6 in winter. It's 81 all this week so need to bump up to hours instead of 4 . Like last week in the 40's.

I think my pool has 13k so my 15k was struggling. So looking at the rj30 (30k) but more i read i agree I might just need to go to Rj60 (60k). My income tax won't be deposited till Thursday so hopefully they will have a upgrade sale again. The current one ends tonight. Ugh!

Oooof. My bad. I saw the 20k in post 1, which was the SWG rating, not the pool gallons.

If we do perfect circles on your oval ends, and its full to the 4.5 foot brim, I get 11,499 gallons. An RJ30 would be properly oversized but an RJ45 would have a better ROI long term.

I don't mean to jinx you, but the sale has gone on since I got here in 2019. This sale ends and it goes on sale for $1 more. Then maybe $5 more. Then back to $10 more. It's how they avoid that it's illegal to always have a sale. They are different sales, you see. :ROFLMAO:

Or put it on a credit card and the tax return is long deposited when the bill is due.

So do you think the rj45 is enough. Or should I go with the rj60?

45 is more than 3X for you and probably the happy medium of longevity VS risk of a power surge wasting 7 more years of cell left.

A lightning strike can erase the RJ60 ROI if it hits year 3 of 10. Lol.

Right! Lightning is no joke here. I did the pool calculator on the DSP site it says my pool is 12060 gallons. So rj45 should be plenty. I would be thrilled to get 4 years out of this one. Compared to the Hayward I have. I might be able to sell the working box. Who knows!

Get the TF pro salt. It comes with a $50 stirring device that the similar priced K2006C doesnt. And the bottles are better sized for how we do things.

Then adhere to TFP levels / chemicals and the cell will last 8 to 12 years for you. Circupoool has overinflated production #s, but even so, if it's 50% less then they boast, it's still a loooooong time.

Thank you. Will look into it. I was looking into getting a new set this year. As I test weekly and have almost run out of a few liquid droppers.

Yall! I bit the bullet yesterday and got the rj45 with the rj30 upgrade to 45 for $10. The powers to be must be looking out for me.

Because my paypal shows the charge but DSP does not show the order. Been working with customer service which was very helpful. Had to reps contact me. John ans Nathan. And John was able to find the order but said the order shows incomplete. So the charge went to paypal but is pending. And said to give paypal a few days to work it out. And they restarted the sale so if I have to reorder I will get the deal of $10 upgrade.

Good to know ow customer service is there. I was really scared it was not legit.

They're entirely legit and have helped many members with their customers service. There's been a handful of unhappy people (can't win em all) but the overwhelming majority are taken care of quickly.

PayPal adds player 3 to the game, it might not even be CPs fault or within their ability to fix. See who you can poke at PayPal to move things along or confirm you should start over.

I agree, they are legit. And I will be happy to promote them. They were really helpful today.
I'm trying to contact pay pla. They told me I can't do it though the app and have to use the web page. Every time I tried logging in with the web page it keep bringing me to the app. So just deleted the app and trying to contact them through the web page. Always something.
