Sorry I did not check email yesterday. OK right before we start to SLAM, lets address the PH. TA of 80 surprises me that PH is 7.8 but again I know my pool not an expert on water chemistry. But I would start to decrease the ph by adding Muriatic acid. If your pool is 13,700 gals then as I read Pool Math, you need to add 11 oz of 31% muriatic acid to bring down to 7.5 ( you should not take my word for this but check it out yourself on Pool Math.). So that is where I would start. After you add let pump run for a while and recheck if it is down to 7.5 then use pool math to bring down to 7.2. Then you will be ready to start SLAM.
