Hello!

While I was doing some routine pool checks, I noticed there was a new wet spot around my pump. I’m a newer pool owner, so I was wondering if someone can help direct me in troubleshooting? Any idea what the problem might be? TIA!

I see what appears to be two wet areas. Somewhere around that white adapter that screws into the top of the pump and perhaps around the clear pump basket O-ring. Is that what you are referring to as well?
Yes. I was mostly concerned about the water around where it connects to the top of the pump. I realized after posting that it appears to be wet around the clear lid as well.

The clear lid might just need some pool silicone lube. Worth a try. No petroleum jelly products. But pool silicone lube might help around the lid if the O-ring isn't badly damaged. As for the adapter at the top of the pump, that would require unscrewing that adapter to reseal it again. The key to that is how it was installed above (outside the image of the pic). You might post another pic or two of the entire pad so we can see where that plumbing goes to. If that line has a union above it, you can unscrew it from there to remove from the pump. If the installers previously glued everything together as one piece, you would have to cut the line to unscrew that adapter. Hope that makes sense.

I have some pool lube that I will add to the lid. Attaching photo of the rest of the set up. Really appreciate the help.

Well, it looks like they installed the line as one piece, threaded the union onto the filter, then probably glued the PVC into the adapter on the pump outlet. :brickwall: You could unscrew the union from the filter, but then you have no way to spin the entire PVC line counterclockwise without hitting the filter. So when the time comes, you'll have to cut the line so that you can unscrew it.

But from that second pic, I see the wetness around the pump, but not so much around the adapter. Unless the dripping is on the opposite side of that pic that we can't see? I was assuming the leak was at that adapter and perhaps dripping down and around. Is that how you see it? I wanted to make sure it's not the actual pump body itself leaking or around the clamp band.

Attaching some more photos. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly where the drip is coming from, because I can’t see any active dripping. I tried to get all angles, but possible it’s from the adapter area and dripping down.
