Need a new pump

So our pump finally kicked the bucket at the end of last season,and we're looking for a replacement. Previous pump was Hayward 1 HP single speed. I was thinking from some articles that I've read that going to a variable speed pump would be a good idea. Problem is that our setup is wired at 115, and it seems like most VS pumps are locked in to 230. Just had my electrician stop by, and running a new line will probably run me about $500. If the savings from a VS pump are significant enough, that would be worth it. The problem is I can't get a good idea of what size pump I would need. Our previous pump was basically just a replacement for what was here when we moved in, but I don't know if it was ever sized correctly.
Finally, I notice that the VS pumps have built in timers. Does that mean I don't need a standalone timer wired in?

From what friends in NY tell me, electricity is *very* expensive! From that standpoint you are going to want a VSP.

Starting next year the government says every pool pump sold that is larger than .7 horsepower *must* be a variable speed pump. So either stick with your current set up or change over now.

Your pool is large. More reason to be able to run a pump on lower rpm for as long as you like so you can skim that huge honkin' surface.

Call Inyopools.com for input on size. They're very helpful with that and may have input in your electrical set up.

A Pentair Superflo VS can be hooked up to 115V.

It cannot be controlled by automation. Just in case that is in your future.

I was looking on their site and while I did find the sizing info useful, it seems like they're pushing this Pure Line Pure Flow brand, which I've never heard of until now.

The Superflo can be hooked up to 115V. It cannot be directly controlled by automation. Do you have an automation system?

Inyos in-house brand is Pureline. For those that do not have automation and wish to DIY the pump install, their pumps provide a good value. They give an 18 month warranty for DIY installs.

I kept turning my down and leaving it for a day. The interesting part to me is i get great flow off the water fall and pressure is around 3 pds. Even had it running at almost 0 for a while and almost left it but water fall stream was weak
My old super pump kept pressure around 12 with new filters
