My standpipe has no laterals, just slits...

Hey all! I was wondering why I cannot seem to find any information about center standpipes that do not have laterals. Anyone else have one of these?

The main purpose of the stand pipe is to move the water and block the sand. My guess is that bottom part takes the place of the laterals. What brand is that?

Yeah it's just a cheap small china filter, mine eventually worn out it's probably better to buy a new one or a bigger filter

I have a filter like that. No laterals. It seems to be doing a good job so far, and no sand in the pool.
