Multi port valve issue

Hi,
We ordered a new multi port valve because it's leaking water out of the backwash port. If the pump is on low speed, the filter is making a gurgling sound and sending a lot of air through the return lines.

Will it hurt the pump to run on low speed with the filter gurgling and sending air constantly through the return lines? The filter doesn't gurgle as bad when it is on high speed. There is a lot of air bubbles in the pump basket.

We're still waiting for the new multi port valve to arrive.

If you have bubbles in the pump basket then the cause is not your MPV. You have a suction side air leak. Check the seal on the pump lid and use Pool Lube on it.
