Mottling

I hate to be pessimistic about this acid wash fix but I seriously doubt you will find the post acid wash finish acceptable. The disparity in color and the size of the blotched area is quite substantial.

In any event, should the PB want to see what it looks like with water in it, I would be sure they refill the pool with no more than a few feet of water, if that, as this will be sufficient to gauge if the acid wash eliminated the blotch (ie do not get talked into a complete fill of the pool).

Any pictures of the plaster without water on it? Have you gone down to the spot to visually inspect it or to feel if there is a difference in surface texture?

Best to document as much of the "damaged" area as possible in the off chance that this escalates into a legal dispute with the PB.

Guess we will see what it looks like when it's filled and back to normal.

Any updated pics showing how it looks now? How are you feeling about it?

Here's what it looks like after the acid wash. We actually like the "marbling" look or what other call mottling. We're ok with how it turned out. I think when it's time to refinish we will go with something other than plaster.
