@camueller and @epro05 I know this post is old but wanted to see if you still recommend the Chapin 362 sprayer and the Bifen ITS, or should I get the Bifen XTS? I have mosquitoes and noseeums. I have never treated my yard and never used a sprayer but want to try DIY first to see if works. Also read on domyown.com ( seems like name changed from domyownpestcontrol.com ) to add Nyguard IGR to the Bifen, I guess that kills the eggs. Do you recommend? Will give a try If still recommend. Thanks!

I have had good luck with Spartan mosquito control tubes. I learned the hard way you have to replace them after 3 months ( probably 2 ) but I put them out in the spring and instead of getting eaten alive like normal we had none..
I did replace them after 5 months ( my mistake ) when they started getting bad again and it's helped after a week.
My understanding is the nasty blood suckers lay eggs in the tubes and it kills them and eventually they all die off...

A friend of mine swears by this stuff. It kills/repels naturally. After getting bit in the backyard a ton this weekend, I just ordered some so hope it works.

I have tried that and seemed to help. Only down side it is doesn't seem to last.
I bought a backpack sprayer and would spray every 2 or weeks but ran out..Debating buying it again

The igr is insect growth regulator - it helps break the life cycle so the larvae never mature - you don’t need to add it to every application- maybe every other time . Mix the bifen it 3oz/gal & re-apply in a couple weeks. Bifen xts is just a higher strength so u can use less. There’s also wisdom @ tractor supply. I get my bifen at the co-op by my house. The key is breaking the life cycle in as many ways possible - repeat applications keep it under control.
Also the spartan mosquito eradicators do work. I have tried to recreate the ingredients but haven’t had as much luck with that as the real thing. You have to buy enough to surround your property especially if you wait until late in the season.

I have an 1/2 acre lot and I use two of these.

One is supposed to cover a whole acre, but I believe in overkill. The downside is you have to change the propane tank every 3 weeks. I have it hooked up to my underground propane tank so I dont have that issue.

But it really works. It eliminates about 95% of the mosquitos in my yard.

Thank you all! @markayash I did try sparton and it helped but not great. Now it is possible I did not add at right time, I was late in season when I put out. I feel It is not enough for what I need. Thermacells also did very little. But the Bifen seems like it could work better. @Mdragger88 is there a sprayer you like? And do I connect to a water hose?
@Chasarms do you mean with the Bifen?

I use Bifen XTS as well as Wondercide cedarwood oil concentrate. These two are great for mosquitos:

It's probably the Bifen doing the heavy lifting, but the cedarwood oil smells good.

I did read you have to put spartan out early in the season. I hate those blood suckers
Yes, I get them out in early April in Texas, but they absolutely work. I’ve tried everything: commercial sprays, mosquito magnet, thermacell, and more. I had to laugh once when I watched mosquitos landing on the thermacell while it was lit. Found the Spartans last year and have enjoyed 2 summers of almost no mosquitoes, and we have a very heavily treed yard that had been full of mosquitoes in most summers past.

How often do you change yours?

I just use a cheap 2 1/2 gal pump sprayer- I don’t spray my entire 5 acres just around the house, pool, shop & garden probably about 1.5 acres . But I’m thinking about mixing it in the next time we spray our whole yard with the big spray rig.

I have a great experience w/ the eradicators when i put them out in feb -(yes we have mosquitoes in feb!) but the second go round in may is not quite as effective maybe I’m waiting too long to replace them? Or there’s just soooo many mosquitoes 🦟
