Milky White from Return - Heater + SWG

Hi;

I replaced my Hayward Super Pump last night. Let it run all night to filter pool. This morning, I turned on heater, and milky white is coming from returns. If I shut off either the heater or SWG, it stops. Does anyone have any solution?

I have a DE filter, so my first thought was there is DE coming back into the pool. But why does it stop when I shut either the heater or swg?

Side issue, after new pump installation, there are bubbles (leaks) in pump basket, swg, and returns. I will need to tighten up new fittings. The new Hayward pump comes in 2" now, so added in two bushings, which increases chances of leaks...

Thanks in advance!

The fine bubbles that are causing your 'cloudy' water seem to occur early in the year. Might be from past use of algaecide (adding when closing?) or antifreeze, etc. Seems related to surface tension of the water. Typically disappears after the pool is open for awhile.

You do need to fix the leaks. They let your system drain when the pump is off and creates lots of air at start up. One of them (pump basket) is a suction side leak and that enhances the issue you are seeing.

Hi;

My pool has been open for a month, and all was good. This started milky white only started this morning, after I replaced my pool pump yesterday. And it only happens when heater AND swg is on at the same time. Seems strange to me...

I agree on the leaks, need to get to store first.

Thank you,
