So while I have been messing with my filter plumbing, I've been periodically plugging the return and skimmer with the white plugs with orings. On the return, I may have tightened it too much as I ended up spinning the whole eyeball return fitting trying to get it out. Since then, i've been seeing patches of water on the downhill side, outside of the pool - so my best guess is I messed up the water tight seal at the return.
Anyone have suggestions on how to re-set that seal while the water level is above the return (i.e. normal operating level). Just crank down on the nut outside the pool and let it smoosh everything down. Loosen it, increase the leak but try to reset the gaskets then crank down to fix?
I'm on a well so would prefer not to lose the water level needed to get below the return.
Thanks.
