Getting that controllability to your phone (not so interested in PC) is the goal for me.

Sometimes it is easier to access the programing screens via PC. I think, if the mfg. has an app (for phone controls) then most likely that would also include a PC version as part of the package. But that is something you can verify with research.

I really don't care at all about CONTROL of the SWG by phone, might be nice to see the spec remotely but even that isn't a MUST for me.

If this is not important, then CircuPool makes a 60k rated SWCG in addition to Pentair IC60. Look at this link that gives comparisons - look at that CL Power (lb/day) output column. You can have any SWCG independent of automation so long as it has its own control box and you can hook up power to it.

Note that in some other threads we have determined that Circupool seems to be optimistic in the marketing fo their CL output. Don't expect it to be more than their competitors equivalent cells in spite of what is published.

There is more then functionality to choose a control system that will be in your pool for the next 20 years. There is how robust the equipment is and if the equipment will be upgraded by Hayward during its lifetime.

The S3 has networking builtin. You don't need the complexity of another box - Aquaconnect. I believe the S3 will get OTA updates from Hayward. Dig into the differences and you will find many improvements internally.



You can run two cells in parallel but the controller can only control one of them. So you run one cell set at 100% and then use the controller to set the output for the other cell. You need a control box for each cell.

Would you suggest two IC40's or one IC60? I think I would rather go a single IC60 but they seem to be A.) harder to find right now and B.) Not packaged with the I5P kit which seems to be what I need for the lowest cost. I plan to reach out to some online vendors to see if they can do the I5P bundle with the IC60 (if they can get one) but wanted to see if there was an obvious issue with dual 40's (it may be cheaper that way as well).

I just bought that AFTER seeing your link, great minds...! Thanks for the link, I think that is the best option for me as well. Now I just need to source a pump for a decent price, the VF3 is what I am looking into currently.
