Mattresses

I have had a few people brag about the mattress in a box. My question is how would you return it? I don't have a gaint vacuum pump to re shrink it :)
I know Amazon just tells u to keep/donate them & credits your account.
I got mine on Walmart.com & i asked the fedex guy that question & he said they would come pick it back up “inflated” out of the box. My advice is definitely don’t open one until u have it in the room u want it in especially if its a king or cali king.
They’re heavy & unwieldy once removed from the box.

Sleep number beds get great or terrible reviews. Years (many) ago, I tested one and it felt like a ballon under a topper
That’s why I hate reviews. When we bought our fridge few years back half said better then sliced bread other half said so bad it gave pond scum a good name. And it was like that for every brand we looked at

I have a Sleep Number mattress I got in 2002, and I love it. No more aches and pains on rising, my back doesn't hurt, and I get the best sleep! When (if) this one wears out, I'll get another one immediately. Only with a pillow top. Sheer heaven.

Oh, and I'm a side sleeper too.
Interesting. Our current bed is a very heavy memory foam my wife has had for about 6 years (we've been married 4). She absolutely loves it, I do not. It's meh at best for me, at worst I can wake up with some aches and pains. I've wondered about a sleep number, so we can each adjust our side to our desired levels. We should really try one.

There are some foam/latex beds you can have built with different specs on each side. I don't know how you rotate it, though :)

My bed in a box is a hybrid (coils inside & foam on top)- I don’t like the feeling of being trapped in my bed w/ all foam. I have a hard enough time getting out of bed as it is 🤣🤣

We bough a Serta last year and it’s mostly foam. It was heavenly in the store but in practice it’s terrible. There is no hard edge to keep the corner intact. When I sit on it to get on socks or tie my shoes I sink in.

also, for us married dudes, where her side is her side and our side is her side too, I awaken many times a night about to roll off the edge that collapsed.

We joke about that. She doesn't do it anymore - but, there used to be mornings where I would wake up with my pillow on my nightstand from her encroaching.

A guy I know who is a chiropractor said he bought a topper at wal-mart and it was fantastic. I wasn't interested in one at the time and didn't ask which one.

We bought my mom a topper from Walmart when she stayed with us for a few months on the futon - she loves it & took it home to put on her bed. It was like swirly blue & white. I’m Currently hunting for that exact one now. Also the whole bed is your wife’s bed .... she just lets u sleep in it 🤣🤣

We have a Saatva that we are pretty happy with, though we did end up adding a memory foam topper. DO NOT buy a GhostBed -- at least if you think you might want to return it. Supposed to be a "hassle-free" process.

So we decided to return ours... they made us find a charity to donate it to, and transport the mattress ourselves to said charity. This was next to impossible - no charities want mattresses. We ended up finding a Goodwill that let us drop it off (though I don't think they were supposed to). Then I submitted the donation receipt to them. I had to keep calling and emailing them, and no response. After a month, I filed a dispute with my credit card company. Only then did they respond, and they tried to say that my refund should be hundreds of dollars below what I paid. Finally they agreed with me - though still wanted to fight over $8 in tax. Seriously the WORST return experience ever, and horrid customer service.

We started this process with a really cheap foam mattress from Costco before the Ghostbed. The return process on that one was great, Costco sent out a company to dispose of it, and got the money back right away.
