MasterTemp400 Turns on 2-5mins then shuts off

Hello, we recently had our pool finished and they finally gave us the OK to use our water features. Everything works fine, pump, valve actuators, everything besides the heater

The heater turns on, the heating light changes from blinking to solid then back every minute or so, then finally stops and reads ERR IGN.

Since the gas lines are new (and really long) and we never used the system, I figure that would be the problem. Maybe some air trapped along the line, but I really don’t know.

There is a video i found on youtube that exemplifies perfectly how the heater light will blink, then go solid, then blink again. I would say the only difference is how long our solid light stays on for, but overall the same idea.

How many times have you tried to get the heater to light? It can take 15-20 tries if the air was not purged from the gas line.

Post pics of your gas meter, the data plate on your gas meter, and the MasterTemp showing the gas lines into it.

Has the gas pressures at the gas valve been checked using a dual port differential manometer?

Make sure the gas is actually turned on. And yes you could have some air trapped in the gas line. Also, is the heater labeled for the type of gas you are using. Also, I've seen where a company installed a propane unit on a natural gas system and they didn't swap out the orifice from propane to natural. Unit won't work that way.
