Mastertemp to Aqualink rs control wiring

I am doing the electrical for a pool builder and due to the recent shortages they bought a Jandy aqualink rs panel and Jandy pump but ended up with a Pentair mastertemp 400 heater. From what I understand they are not plug and play compatible and have searched for hours on the proper way to wire these together. Any help would be appreciated.

Automation systems can almost control any heater. Some new heaters have an RS-485 control but most likely that will only work with the same brand of heater and automation.

But almost all gas heaters have what is called a fireman's switch or loop.

See this manual page 36.


I am not sure if your automation uses the 2 wire loop or the 3 wire loop.

I have been running an Aqualink panel with a Pentair Mastertemp heater for years.

Wire the MasterTemp firemans switch...

to the green terminal bar as shown below. It is exactly the same as the Jandy heater Firemans switch as shown below.
