Hi, Pentair mastertemp 400 no lights on unit or automation controls. I checked the fuse and jumped the control board with no luck. I find high voltage but no control 24v ? I did notice no red light on the ignition control board is not illuminating. The only thing i noticed different than normal is when pressing the heat button in the intellicenter i do not hear the relay click? I guess i need help tracing the 24v control power from ic40 to the heater. Thank you

First, what temperature does the automation say the water is? If it isn't accurate, it has a bad temp sensor and won't allow the heater to light.
The automation does not supply power to the heater control, but only completes the 24V circuit when it calls for heat. The tiny relay that actually completes the circuit, if it makes any noise at all, would not likely be heard.
Follow the small wire that goes into the grey box back to the Intellicenter, remove it from the terminal and twist the wires together. Does the heater work?
If not, in the grey box you will find that small wire connected to a yellow wire that has been cut. Remove the control wire and twist the yellow wires together. Does the heater now work? If so check the control wire for rodent damage (which you can check first). If none, twist one end together and check for continuity at the other.
If there is continuity, have the Intellicenter turn the heater on in service mode and check for continuity at the two terminals. If none, you may have a bad board.

Hi, i found a broke wire on the controller mb heater. One of the two wires that go to the firemans sw. I fixed the wire but still the heater will only run when i jump the firemans sw. Automation is inop. How do i troubleshoot the board? Thanks!

Hi again, heater will not come on in automation. I tried to call it up in service mode with no luck. Operates fine at the unit with the fireman jumped and automation control disconnected. Anything more i can check before calling service out? Thank you

When you put the automation in service mode and tell the heater to turn on, check for continuity at the terminals on the circuit board. If you have continuity, check the wire all the way to the heater. Could be a break. The automation acts the same as you "jumping" the fireman's switch, it just completes the circuit. No continuity, board may be bad. Check the water temperature the system displays with the pump running. Is it there and very high, the automation will not turn the heater on. Is there an error on the automation for a bad temp sensor? That could be the problem.
