Marking border for landscaping around pool - tool made for the purpose

We just put in an inground pool with concrete surround. I want to put a 2 1/2 foot river rock border around this Hawaiian pool and confine the rock with a metal landscaping border. My wife insisted that the border should match the shape of the pool. I built a tool to accomplish this.
It is basically a 2 x 4 with a wheel and scribe at one end and a guide and wheel at the other end. Pictures are included. It does mean hands and knees work, but it exactly follows the contours of the pool.

I have used composite borders. I have found them to be more flexible and last longer (no rust). The stakes are plastic and have a u-shape at top to hold the border.

Nice idea on the jig to create the outline of the border to match the pool curvature.

I’m just assuming that the landscape border I install will work. Rock goes between the border and the 4” concrete.
