Hi, new pool user here; inherited the pool from previous owner about 3 years ago. The liner does seem to have wearing and fading. Had repaired one small knwe tear with a patch. Filter is a DE filter.
My pool is poorly located near a bunch of landscaping and dirt, as well as trees that deposit small items and fine dirt in the deep end.
I know how to manual vac to waste and it works well, but my concern is it drains a lot of water and usually requires adding 5-6 hours of water through a garden hose (either filled to top or after vacuuming) to get back to mid skimmer level. Does adding the water ruin chemistry and waste water $$$$?
On the other hand, I'm open to a robot in the $500-600 range, but am worried about potential tears or ripping in the liner. The pool also has a slope going from shallow 3.5 to 8.5 deep, Grecian pool shape.
Any advice on what the best route forward would be? Just continue manual vac and balancing? Is it really as wasteful as I think?
