Low salt / high salt confusion

My harward controller reports low salt (2600) and it is I checked it so adding salt. The controller also says high salt/amps.
Ran the diagnostic instant check and the salt is reading 2600 and the amps on the chlorine Gen are at 7.5. Can anyone tell me what I need to do.

What is the actual salinity of the pool water using an independent test kit?
Run the diagnostics described in Hayward Aquarite SWG - Further Reading and post the results here.
