Low psi on cartridge filter

If I run my pump at 1300 rpm’s my swg runs and my heater works. I can even run it at 1200 and it all works, but I just kicked it up 100 rpm’s to be sure. At that speed my cartridge barely reads 5 psi and that might be generous. Is there a minimum psi on the filter I should be shooting for?

It’s kind of weird because on my last pool, which had a DE filter, I was always fighting high Psi.

Thanks

Alvin,

Kind-of the whole point...

I have a large cartridge filter, and at 1200 RPM, I run at about 1 lb. and that is on a 30 lb. gauge..

Filter pressure is really the resistance to water flow.. you want it to be as low as possible.

Sounds like your system is working great.. :goodjob:

Thanks,

Jim R.
