Need some help. Losing chlorine too fast I assume. 11-16 ppm during daytime. Water slightly cloudy, not bad.

TF-100 kit
Swg - been adding 10% chlorine to keep up
TC - 6.0
CC - 0
CYA - 50
TA - 150
CH - 250

What size is your Intellichlor cell? How long do you run your pump?
Intellichlor 60, 2 years old. I’ve had it off last 2 days though as I’ve been trying to assess how much chlorine I was losing and I’ve been having some cell light and flow light issues so wanted to eliminate that confusion from chlorine issue. Attack that after I figure out chlorine issue. Last 2 years run at about 56% for 12 hours a day.

Ok, so 2 nights of testing. Water very clear as of yesterday morning.

Mon 9:15 PM
FC. 20
CC. .5

Tues 5:40 AM
FC 18
CC 0

Tues 10:15 PM
FC 21.5
CC. 0

Wed 5:40 AM
FC 20.5
CC. 0 to 0.5

yesterday I added about 5 gal of liquid chlorine. Keep going?

Keep going?
Looks like technically you passed all 3 SLAM criteria yesterday morning with only a 1 ppm loss overnight. Water still 100% clear? What does your gut say about everything now? If you are confident in your OCLT, then it may be time to increase your CYA from 50 to 70 to preserve the fragile chlorine generated by your SWG during the day.

My gut says I’m good water very clear. Just concerned about need for so much chlorine yesterday, even in afternoon. I actually retested CYA two times over last two days and I think it’s more like 40ish. Never too confident in my comfort with CYA test. Depending on lighting, it could be anywhere from 35-45. Any tips on how to read that test?

How much chlorine should one use during the day? It’s been very sunny, 87, and my pool pretty much gets full sunlight from sunrise (5:50 AM) to 4:30PM then shaded by house.

Here's what I do

I mix the sample then grab my skinny tube with the dot. I go into my yard & find the sun then whichever way it is I move to that spot in the yard & turn my back. I then hold up my dot tube and fill to first line (100 I believe) then I lower it to my waist & look across the yard at something for a sec then glance down to my tube quick and look away again. If I saw a dot, then I raise my tube and fill to next line and so on. There is no guessing this way it is either visible or not "trust me" lol.

You will lose more FC than normal when your FC is high. Slam one more day and do another OCLT for insurance. You pass you are done.

Do the test outdoors, back to the sun. Doesn't have to be sunny, even overcast is fine. Trust that result.

Did one more OCLT. Lost 1.0 -1.5 (tested water twice) from 10:45PM - 5:50AM. I tested CYA a couple more times using the approach suggested and it’s 35 both times. Any concerns with old test chemicals? I think mine are about 2 years old. Store in dark back room in basement (probably 65-70 degrees year round). I feel like I’m overthinking this but don’t want to deal with this again. Thank you all for your help.

Round up to 40. There is no in between just the 10's lines. I would recommend getting new regeants. Tftestkits.net has awesome refill sets depending on your test kit.

I did order a new kit from them. Not here until tomorrow night though.
That's ok, run a fresh set of numbers when it arrives. Remember CYA test outside during day time. Here's how I do it for consistency:
