Portions of my sweep hose degrade and develop a residue.
I have some blue sections and white sections that I’m assuming are reacting to pool chemicals. This residue gets on your hands when removing the sweep from the pool to clean the bag. I usually wash off the residue with a wet towel. This has been happening for a long time and I thought I would try to find a solution here.
The only section of hose that does not degrade is the 3 foot white section attached to the pool wall discharge. It must be a different type of hose, not sure. I’m looking for more of that type of hose. Thanks

What manufacturer and model pool cleaner does your hoses connect to?

The hoses are different in that the blue is a much softer, lighter, more pliable hose material. Because the Jet Vac only uses water pressure (jet) to move it along, the hose must be that way or it would be too heavy.
You may want to check water chemistry. I've seen those hoses last 10 years without much degradation. When they do go bad they do leave a residue on your hands.
You could try a hose kit for a Polaris 280/380, I've seen customers (2) that did that and they seemed to like them. You may need a small section of the blue to transition to the cleaner's head, I don't remember that part. Great cleaner, especially if there are a lot of leaves.

1poolman1- Yes, the pool is 20 years old this year and I have replaced blue sections once so maybe that’s part of the problem. Blue sections have more residue than the white down by sweep. Thanks for recommendations. I’ll check it out.
