I live in the Houston area. We lose power. A lot. Therefore, I just got a new all house generator installed last week. When they cam to do the initial test run on it, the pool filter shut down during the .05 second blink between the house breaker being shut off and the generator kicking on. When everything started back up - the pool filter did not - because the digital 357527Z 176L8122 Pentair timer I have reset to 12:00 am. Therefore, if we have a big freeze, and our fabulous energy company decides to shut everything down at 2 am like they did in 2021, my pool equipment will likely freeze - especially if I happen to be away from home and don’t go out to brave the 20° temps at 2:30 am to restart the equipment.
So now after all that, my question is, after doing lots of research and finding nothing, is there a way anyone here knows of to connect an auxiliary back up battery to my timer in order for it to stay powered up long enough for my generator to take over? Or
Is there a simpler solution available to maintain power in those Pentair units for the mere seconds needed without completely
replacing the entire unit?
