Liner Pulled Out... Help!

Hi, I have a 24' above ground pool. I uncovered it yesterday and started raising the water level. It was drained to just below the skimmer last season. I left the hose running for several hours and came back to this. The liner pulled out from the wall of the pool. I did some research, and I believe this is called a V-bead liner. I heated it up with a heat gun, and was able to stretch it fairly easily, so I think this can be fixed? My problem is the stabilizer bars/rails. I'm trying to remove the one from the affected section so I can fold the liner over the top again. The rails don't interlock with one another, but they appear to be locked into the top plates on the uprights. How can I remove just this one rail without removing all of them? If I pull off the adjacent rails, the liner will pull out of those sections too.

Other concerns: Is there any reason why this happened? Should I expect it to happen again? The liner is about 10 years old. There was also some water in-between the liner and the wall. I sucked it out with the wet/dry vac, but it seems to slowly come back. There does not appear to be any water leaking out of the pool.

Please pardon any incorrect terminology. I'm still learning.

Thanks,
-Chris

Okay I THINK you can tap that metal plate up and you should be able to see that the top rail is not one piece BUT I am not sure as I cannot see under it. Here is what I would do:

-gentle taps on the metal place in the upright. Go slow and easy

-IF the liner holder/wall rail is one piece..........I am not sure what to tell you. You are right in that if you take it all off your whole liner might come off/out.

Do you happen to have the manual for your pool? Do you know what kind of pool it is? WIth that info we might be able to come up with a plan.

Let us know what you find out!

I managed to get the top plates off by rotating them forward. Using heat I stretched the liner over the top and clamped it. Now what? Should I leave it like this for awhile before I put the rail back over it? Would it be better to add more water first, or would that be counter productive?

That part on the left side worries me as it looks like it needs to come down some more.

So with this liner/rail system your liner overlaps the pool wall and that strip is pushed down over it and holds the liner in place? How tight is the fit of the piece that fits over the liner and wall?

You know who might be of better help than I? Swimming Pool Supplies - Pool Parts - INYOPools.com they sell all kinds of pools. They might be able to really help you out. I will give them a shout to come look at this thread!
