Hello! We're new to pools, and are DYI-ing it all the way. We're getting a used pool from someone we know and just started excevating our yard. We have leveled the ground really well, however it's not smooth because of the skid steer tire tracks. We have all clay soil, so it's like digging into concrete with a shovel. Any advice on how to smooth it out? We also have it dug into a bowl shape, that's going to be a pain to smooth too! I tried attaching a photo, but it says my file is too big.

If the grooves in the clay aren't terribly deep or edged, it may still work depending on the base you use. Do yo know what type of base you'll use yet (sand, insulation/Gorilla pads, etc)? Once you are able to resize the pic that should help everyone reply as well. Thanks for posting.

Thank you for giving some hope! We're using masonry sand. Posts will be put on pavers. Because of the dish type dig I can't use any of the ground covers. I also can't figure out how to downsize my pictures...

If you're using an iPhone to post, then when you select a photo at the bottom there's an option for different file sizes. You want to change it from "Actual Size" to "Large" and it should work.

I think smoothing that out with your base layer (usually sand) is your best approach.
