Hello TFP community!
I'm excited to join as we anticipate getting our pool installed shortly. This is our first pool so complete noob here. We live in Toronto, Canada so our season isn't particularly long. Maybe June til Sept.
We are installing a new fiberglass pool. Terazza 12' x 25' model by Aqua Technics.
Our PB is suggesting all Jandy equipment with automatic pool cover T4 by Cover Pools. Since we have a lot of trees in our backyard and temp can really fluctuate day to day and overnight I figured that investing in automatic pool cover will really extend our pool season and allow for daily use.
Equipment included:
- Jandy JXI200NK with Versa flow technology *5YEAR WARRANTY on heat exchanger
- Jandy VS flow pro 1.65HP variable speed pump
- Jandy CS250 Pro Series cartridge filter
- Jandy True clear saltwater chlorinator kit
- Wide mouth skimmer x 2 and return jets x 2
- Spa electrics exclusive Argon LED light x 2 (15Watts/light)
- Cover Pools premium T4 Stainless Steel cable system
We are not doing any automation at this point as it gets expensive. Might add it in the future using Jandy iAqualink.
Questions:
1. What do you think of this equipment?
2. Is it worth looking at a comparable Pentair system? I would like to stay within one ecosystem for everything to avoid compatibility issues.
3. What pool lights would you recommend?
I am not particularly impressed with Spa Electrics lights. My preference is to go with nicheless LED lights that fit into standard return so we don't end up cutting out a hole for proprietary housing that only fits one light. I would like to do multi-color LED lights that I can control from an iPhone app over WiFi. Since we don't have automation I would like to control the lights directly from the app with smooth color transition and no turn on/ off cycle for changing the colours.
Should be pretty straight forward
but from my limited research I couldn't find any lights that fit the above.
Many thanks,
