leaking water below pool pump.

Hi,

I just opened my pool and noticed that water is coming out below the pool pump. Is it still safe to run the pump or should I have it repaired immediately? Any idea how much would be the cost of repair?

It should be fine from a safety standpoint. But it will destroy bearings, etc pretty quickly. Most likely needs a new seal.

Cost for you to do the repair is $20 or so. For someone else, probably $200 or so, if they will repair it. They most likely will say you need a new pump.

Can you see where it's leaking from? Could it be the drain plugs aren't sealing properly?
