You have 1.5" ports in that pump. Get a 1.5" hi-temp union, as Texas Splash, mentioned, a 2" coupler, a 2" x 1.5" reducer bushing, short piece of 1.5" PVC, some good PVC glue (blue glues seem to work best).Hello all! Last year near the end of the season I noted a leak in the pvc connection (red arrow in pic). Tried to caulk it…hoping for quick fix but it didn’t work. Want to fix it before I open the pool. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
You can. It leaves some shavings you'll need to clean off, but it's okay. The glue and primer is to connect the PVC parts together UNLESS it's a threaded part. Threaded parts varies a bit. A threaded adapter, like in your pump now, uses a thread sealer. But a union adapter typically has an O-ring that squeezes against the items it's being fastened to and does not use a thread seal.can I just use a hacksaw?
If they are the same size, you use a "coupler" fitting.how do I attach the two PVC pipes together after I cut it
