Leak in my inground pool

You may have had a small leak for a long time and never realized it until you went looking.

You say pool is now dropping by a lower rate. That implies a different leak or now from one leak instead of two.

It does not make sense to me and i needs help !
This morning the skimmer one was full as it was yesterday. The skimmer two this morning was fully empty.
The water keeps going down almost now below the jet (half way).
But the skimmer one is now fully empty. The skimmer one is communicating with the skimmer two and the drain only just before the sand filter when the three different pipes are reconnecting to feed the pump. Is it possible that if the skimmer one is fine, and the pipe is fine still it will empty because their would be a problem in the skimmer 2 or in the drain ?

Water can be siphoning from skimmer 1 to skimmer2.

If both of skimmers are empty and the water is still dropping, is it possible that :
- the skimmer 1 is still siphoning the water from the drain
- the main drain is leaking and siphoning the two skimmers, in this case one would have been emptied before the second one starting to be emptied.

On the photo the main drain i believe is in the middle

You have valves on each suction line.

Isolate the lines with one line on at a time and see if the water level falls.

Is it possible that I would have damaged the piping system by not putting back correctly the multisport valve system when I changed the O-Ring system ? I have done this procedure already few times but last time I did, their was a leak of sand, i open it again to see and I've noticed a little crack at the bottom of the multisport valve, the piece that connect to tube connecting to the lateral. I seal it with a bit of silicone and out it back. I may have done something wrong ? The pressure looks great when i started the pool and the jet, the skimmer everything was working great.

Anything is possible.

You would only lose water with the pump running if you have a leak in your MPV. And you should see the water leaking out from somewhere around the MPV.

This morning updated information :

Skimmer one was isolated : full
Drain was isolated
Skimmer two was not isolated: from full to half empty
Lose of water: 1 cm with the bucket.
Important note: the level of water is right below the Jets
It seems like the water in skimmer two could be at level with the pool level (note sure)

Question 1: is it possible that the jets would siphone the skimmers ?
Question 2: in few hours i will check again, if the water stop dropping, should I understand that the problem is a leak in the jet, but how to explain the connection with the skimmer ?
Question 3: if the leak stops, can I exclude the main drain and the lining?

End of afternoon update :

The drain skimmer 1 and skimmer 2 were not connected. The bucket test shows 3 cm lost. The water is few cm below the jet. The skimmer 2 is fully empty.

I believe it means it's the liner or the drain. And the skimmer 2. Agree?

You are more likely to have a leaking liner then a leaking pipe.

Turn off all the suction lines, put plugs that you should have from winterizing in the returns, and see if the liner holds water.

All the suction lines are closed and all the jets are above water. I put some coloring around the light and i don't see any suction.

Couldn't it be the hydrostatic valve too ?

I have a leak in my pool and the water is now below the skimmer and below the Jets. The skimmers are off so there is no siphoning happening. The water is still dropping. I need to see if it's the liner or the main drain but the company to detect the leak told me they can only come.at the end of may, the pool needs to be clean and the water warmer. Filling the water everyday will kill my water bill ! What should I do in a situation like this ?

Unfortunately that is a cost of home and pool ownership.

You can get into the cold water and plug your main drain. How deep is it?

I'm going to do this. I still probably have 6 feet of water. Do i need a plug for the pipe and one for the hydrostatic valve ? So i can check also the valve and see if it needs to be replaced or if It's just the seal?

I would plug the main drain and squirt some dye around the hydrostatic drain and see if it gets sucked in.

I would not remove the hydrostatic drain unless you really know what you are doing. Do it wrong and your entire pool will empty.
