Hi. We have a 20k gallon inground pool that is about 15 years old. We recently had all lines pressure tested after having new coping and pavers installed and before a liner replacement. We had new liner installed 2 weeks ago and within 4-5 days noticed water loss at about 1.5-2 inches every 24 hours. The liner company came back to finish the second part of their install and told us that the gasket screws around the steps in the shallow end of pool hadn’t been tightened. We believed him, he said he tightened them and we moved on. Again, more water loss. They came and isolated main drains, ran the filter, did dye tests, did sonar tests and eventually called in a diver. The diver said the leak was at the gasket at stairs. He removed gasket cover and said he was going to install a price of vinyl to seal the gap. We weren't entirely thrilled with the idea since obviously it was a faulty install and we want the pool company to fix it correctly. He said he’d just try to temporarily fix to stop the additional water leakage with a makeshift patch but didn’t glue it( not sure what the heck that means).
He did say the gasket is all misaligned and that the install company has to come back and drain pool and peel back liner to fix it. Here’s my million dollar question. Can all this be done without any compromise to the new liner?
