Laminars and variable speed pump issue.

Wondering if anyone has experienced this before. I have two pentair laminars. Go figure why they are pentair when the automation system is Jandy, but anyway. So I replaced my pump with a Pentair variable speed pump maybe a year and half ago. Works great, interfaced with the Jandy PDA system with no issues.

So heres the problem. I turn on the laminars and that makes the variable speed pump jump up to the setting programmed for when the laminars are on. So far so good and my laminars are spraying their streams into the pool. The problem is after a bit of time, the laminar streams keep getting lower. This is like 2 hours a of swim time and the laminars are quite visible lower than when I turned them on. Does anyone have any explanation for this? Its happened at least 10 times already when swimming so its not a one time thing and I thought I would finally ask on here.

Thanks

Well I have to ask did it do that with the old pump? Sometimes I think depending on pump HP you can get weird things happening like that. Reason I say that I know I'm oversized as far as my pump goes and because of that and the way the return water is plumped my deck jets will surge out with water when first turned on. They'll back off but before two hours like you mentioned. My plumbing I think has something do with that. My return water comes out of the swg into a line of T's and then ball valves control the on/off flow. So my returns are first in line followed by the deck jets. And I mentioned pump HP because the pump has capacity to push Mor water and when something is turned on I get a surge with it backing down after that. So maybe you can relate this to your setup or it may be my polish myth. ?

I don't remember if it did it with the old pump . We didn't have that pump too long before it died after buying the house. I'd say its probably 15 minutes tops before I notice a little difference in the laminars. Yesterday we swam for just a little over an hour. by the time we were done, the laminar jets were landing in the water at least 1 foot closer from the edge of the pool.
