Ladder expiry

Those with ladders, do you replace them when they ‘expire’.

I don’t really use mine as have a set of in built steps but noticed that the ladder steps apparently should have been replaced. This must be to comply with the length of time the ladder has been rated from a safety perspective so it doesn’t fail with someone on it.

I've never heard of an expiration date on a pool ladder? Where do you see that- is it on the ladder itself??

Yup it’s printed on one of the plastic steps. A certikin ladder.

Looking up ladders just now think I have the wrong sort too, a concrete pool ladder rather than a one for a liner pool.

I know inyopools dot com sells replacement rungs for pool ladders but I always just thought that was in case of damage, not age?
Certikin does sell replacement parts so buy a new step with a new date
