Afterward the controller inside the house was showing only "FIRMWARE B12". After reading a few posts here i rebooted the system and now all is well!

Hold on.... things still not right. RS still hung up, but everything works in service mode. Thoughts?

Yes. And now it's again fixed! When you rotate the main board down to access the AP board, there are 4 wires to a red plug on the top edge. Those are the wires to the aqualink RS controller inside the house. At some point, i think when i upgraded the main board to use iAqualink, those 4 wires had too much insulation stripped, so they need to be carefully dressed down so they don't touch the cabinet.

Once I'm confident that this is inddes the fix I'll retrim the copper so the insulation runs close to the plug.
