Would like to get feedback in how youve set you program. What are your speeds? What speed do you vacuum at if using a hose connected to your filter? What is you lowest speed for just simple water circ?

thanks!

S,

As a starting point, I'd go with 1,000 for your normal run RPM and then adjust the other speeds based upon what you want to do. As an example.. in order for my waterfall to look like I want it, I have to run my pump at 2700 rpm.. This is not a magical number, I had to experiment to find out what worked the best for me.

You will have to do the same thing. Experiment with different speeds and use the ones that work best for you. I initially had set up my pump to increase its speed several times a day with the idea that this would help with surface skimming. But I found that it made little or no difference, so I pretty much run at 1,200 rpm 95% of the time because it takes that speed to close my SWCG's flow switch.

Play with it... you can hurt it..

Thanks for posting,

Jim R.

I guess another point is don't try to make the return flow look like it did with your old single speed pump... running slow will not look right at first..

I'm going to echo what Jim said. If you have a heater or SWG find the minimum speed that will keep them running and program about 100rpm higher than that for your normal everyday run speed. Use the other speed settings for quick changes to speed up the pump to use a vacuum or for more aggressive skimming. Mine runs at a base speed of 1450 for my heat pump and bumps up to 2000 when the solar panels open up. The slower you can run your pump the less electricity you will use.
