Hello guys,
Sorry for silly question :<
Basically we just bought a house, which comes with an in ground pool. However, I don't want to spend too much money on electricity on such pool, since I know for a fact that we will barely be using it.
From my little to non knowledge about swimming pools, it needs its pump in order to work, which runs on electricity. My question is can i turn it off completely to save electricity ? WIll it make the pool turn into a horrible show ?
In other words, what can I do to minimize my electricity bills on the pool ?

Welcome to TFP.

You have to run the pump and filter for a minimum time. Read ...

L,

If you don't run the pump and keep the pool water sanitized, you will have a giant green mosquito-laden swamp..

What were you thinking?? What was your plan?

It will cost more to fill it in that run it and enjoy it..

Thanks,

Jim R.
