Thanks for the bump. We should be done by now. The operative word being should. Because of the way in which power comes into the main house, our plan was to have a second meter handling power for the cabana/pool. You know what they say about plans, tell the city code office your plan and watch them laugh. Two meters are not permitted by code in our neighborhood. Now mind you, Oncor had already approved and installed a second pole and transformer in our alley and prepared underground service to the cabana. They didn't think it was a problem at all. So, we had to reroute electrical not just for the cabana, but for the house. Hence, we are not done. Here are the pictures that show the process (and some progress).
Here you can see where the overhead lines came into the house and the service on the rear of the house. This now had to go.
And we had to dig a 38" trench from the rear of the cabana to the rear of the house (about 400 feet) and avoid the gas, water and sewer lines coming into the house.
We did a pretty good job. Only dinging one line into the house, the water line, but that was easily fixed.
Then a 4 inch conduit in the 38" deep trench had to be run and the outside service removed.....
And the biggest wire I've ever seen.
Transsocket and panel installed on the rear of the cabana....
And then there was light!
Fireplace is ready for wood.
Getting the place cleaned up.
Now we have to get the concrete flatwork done and couldn't do that until the electrical was solved. The concrete guys started forming up the deck on Friday and we'll have steel in the deck on Monday. Then pool deck inspection. Once that is green tagged the pool guys can finish the pool. So we are close, but sure wish we were done.
And only one chip on the pool coping that needs be replaced.
