Ok. Take a breath and a minute. The test only goes to 6.8. If it’s really a 5 you have no clue so you raise it from ‘6.8’ but it really only raises the PH a 5.5 (?) which is still unreadable. When we moved last fall it took 4 rounds to make it readable. Pools that were heavy on shock and tabs tend to be low PH from all the acid in the CYA
The same goes for when it’s too high. If it’s off the charts high it still reads 8.2. But maybe it’s 10 and will take 3 rounds to lower it enough.
Just to be clear you are using the block, and 5 drops of the red liquid, correct ? It’s pretty simple but I myself have messed up simpler things, so….. lol.
Look at @Newdude post and make sure you are doing it right. You can also take and share a pic of your test for us to see.
I say throw the kids in and tell them to have a splash contest! That is the funniest way to push the pH up. You can also roll the return up so it breaks the surface of the water. THe kids will love that also!
