Jandy SWG union cracked

Darn....you may need an extra 90 degree fitting...
I think I still have enough pipe if I cut it right at the back of the coupling I just installed. Still got plenty of extra pipe and another full union setup if needed. But I will get some 90’s as well just in case. I am thinking that my original cut since it was not straight and I straightened up the best I could, might be the cause. All I had to cut it with was a small coping saw. So if I end up attempting it again I will either buy a sawzall or borrow one to get a better straighter cut. Will see what tomorrow brings.

No leaks at the union but have a small drip at the new coupling I installed.
It’s not going to seal. If it leaks now it will only get worse and continue to leak. Plan your repair, most importantly clean everything well after deburring. When installing fittings after cleaning and priming make sure to twist the pipe 1/4 turn and hold tight until push out isn’t going to happen. Enjoy the party, keep an eye on the weeper. 😊

If you haven't gone to the store yet, pick up a few extra fittings. They are good to have on hand. A couple of couplers, and a couple of 90s just in case you need them.

I figured it probably was not going to seal. I will attempt again Friday unless forced to do it sooner. Will make sure to have cleaner cuts. I did push and twist the 1/4 turn but evidently not successfully.
