Dealing with the crisis situation last few weeks after my Jandy FloPRo VSP (VFHP270AUT) pump stopped. Opened the pool this season and the pump was running fine for a couple of days and then noticed the water was still. Both PDA & IQPUMP01 was unable to control the pump. No options to jump the pump and finally reached out the Pool company. Tech showed up and said the Pump drive has gone bad and mentioned the part (R0974400) is not in stock and better to replace the entire pump. I just had this installed 3 yrs back and its already broken and the price for the new unit is $2500 incl. tax & labor. Already spent almost the same amount 3 yrs back. SO frustrated and the pool is turning into a swamp and have to act quickly. Please suggest my options here. Should i just bite the bullet and get a new unit?

Thanks,
AKD.

That sucks for sure. You should manually add chlorine and stir with your net or brush until the pump is back online. I have the same pump but still going strong after 8 seasons.

Are you saying you can't see this at all in Aqualink? Or you can click the button to turn it on but it doesn't turn on?

If it is truly fried then yes you need to replace it with another variable speed Jandy pump.

Appreciate the reponse. The PDA works and when I turn ON/OFF the pump, I an hear the relay kick in. So, the panel works and also checked for power to the pump and that is all good. Its probably the PCB thats fried. I had the standard Jandy Stealth 2HP pump from the original owner before this and that was going strong for almost 20 yrs. Replaced this for the ease of controlling it with my phone and ended up with this within 3 yrs.

I've been adding chlorine every couple of days..Should keep up with it. Thank you.

Just replace it yourself. There isn't much to it. Look around and find the cheapest price.

Looks like this the only place where they've the comparable model in stock and I'm tempted to just get it from here and swap it myself. I do notice the Model SKU (VSPHP270DV2A) is different than the one I've (VSFHP270AUT). Will this be a simple swap and re-wiring or too much of a difference that I've to reprogram everything? Just trying to get a sense of if the additional $500 is worth saving the hassle than having the pool guy deal with it.

The programming is in Aqualink so there is no reprogramming of the pump itself. And only 1 pump you can choose (Epump).

Most Jandy pumps are the same physical size but check the specs to make sure. If so, you should have an easy job to swap it. Post a pic of your old pump pressure and suction side just curious but it should be just a screw on/off plumbing setup.

Check the pump instructions on Jandy website but should be a straight swap. What version Aqualink do you have?

The pumps are fitted through unions, so if this model is almost the same as my existing one, then should be straight forward.
