Jandy 4 function SPA side remote question

Good Morning ,
Like everyone with those Jandy SPA remote , the buttons are getting crack with sun and water and we get those phantom random start .
After switching off the remote from the outside control panel ,those random start stopped but we missed the luxury of pressing the button to get jet on so I decided to buy a new jandy 4 function SPA side remote .
I pulled the old one out and installed the new one .
I connected the 6 wires and on the panel inside (Jandy 4 ) i programmed and assigned Jets to button 1 , Heater to button 2, light to button 3 and SPA to button 4
I tested and the remote is not responding to my request
Surprisingly when on the remote I press button 1 ,I get jet , button 2 jet , button 3 jet , button 4 jet .
So I reprogrammed the 4 equipment but starting with light button 1 and heater ,SPA, jets .
This time when pressing any of the remote button , I get light .
Lock like the first one programmed is the one and only saved
When I review the program for the remote , i see each assignment I did .
I am stuck with 1 function on this 4 function button .
I hope someone can help to troubleshoot this

Welcome to TFP... A Great resource for all your "Remotely" familiar questions...

I'm not a Jandy guy, but I believe all of these wired Spa side remotes are basically the same.

Sounds to me like you have mis-wired the remote and that you have one of the switches attached to what should be the ground wire.

Here is what the Pentair Remote looks like.. the color codes may be different, but you can see that if you had the blu and blk wires crossed, that only button S4 would ever work..

If me, I'd double check my wiring.

I also noticed yesterday that when the heater is on and sending hot water to the SPA, the LED in the middle of the 4 button is ON too .
I am going to check those connections with my son today and I will let you know .

On the Pentair unit, the light comes on when the heater is operating...
