Is this pump motor toast?

Maybe downsize the motor and impeller if you are not ready to replace the pump?

I would get a 1 hp motor and a SPX2600C impeller.

That way, you can always change back to the original impeller or to a SPX2605C impeller.

Our current pump is the SP2607X10. I believe the current impeller on it is the SPX2607C.

You can mix different motors with different impellers? What does that accomplish?

It seems apparent that our current motor suffered a shaft seal leak, though I didn’t notice any external drips under the motor.

Going forward, how often should one remove the motor and check for leaks? Should the seal be replaced on a regular schedule?

Thanks. 🙂
