Is this an acceptable tile instatllation?

We are having our kidney shaped mid-1980's pool re-plastered and re-tiled. Having a bit of a disagreement with the PB as to whether the tile installation is acceptable or not. Tell me the truth now, am I being difficult or should I expect a better job? The PB says it is a matter of taste. Thanks again for your wisdom. I'm just not sure if my expectations are too high.

Unacceptable to me.

1. Grout lines are different thicknesses;
2. Vertical and horizontal surfaces don't have matching grout lines;
3. Smaller tile is not set square;
4. Where are the bullnose tiles??? The horizontal surface edges should have bullnose tiles!!

Honestly, in my opinion, that's just a sloppy job and the PB would be ripping it out and redoing it. I absolutely would not accept that. Others may be more forgiving...

Unless and even if this is someones' first pool tiling job, they knew better and just didn't DO better. Labor wise done on the quick and the cheap to me.

That builder would be ashamed to have it at HIS house------or should be.

I agree - I've seen better pool tile jobs in Central American, developing countries. No bullnose and not having the tiles on top match up to the waterline tile? Seriously?

I would put those pictures on Yelp and add a review as well. Tell him that you will take new photos and write a better review once he has corrected his terrible workmanship.

Matter or taste? Nope, matter of professionalism.

Nope and adult word NO! Sorry PB but you get to have this redone!

Is there any way you can be there looking over their shoulders (with some goodies to butter them up) when they come to redo it?

I would make sure it is NOT the same people redoing!
