Is there a trick to screwing on the top of a Hayward Swimclear Filter

Mine is a Hayward Cartridge C200S. It has the red clamp that you depress to tighten the lid. 9 out of 10 times when i close it it has a leak.
Is there any tricks to this, am I supposed to line things up, it just never seems to seal correctly.
I think the older clamp versions are better

Do you lube the o-ring and mating surfaces well? I'd start there with plenty of pool lube.

I like Magic Lube but there are a lot of them out there. Just go to your local big box or pool store and they'll have what you need. Don't be stingy using it.
