Hi all started running the filtration on my new pool. Have the Intelliflo VSF, with Pentair DE 100 filter, Aquacal SQ 225 heat pump and IC 40 chlorinator. Running pump at 30gpm for a 24k gallon pool. How does my wattage look.....to high, great...etc????
Is the wattage on my new Intelliflo VSF pump good?

I would say that is pretty great.. Your pump is using the same amount of power as 2, 75 watt light bulbs

I often went to 1550 rpms because it was still only 188 (?) W. I forget now exactly but it had more oomph with really not much more power used.
And what would be considered an elite Wattage at 1337 RPM? LolI think that I would describe it as more elite than optimum.
Is that with a DE filter? I have a Pentair DE 100 and at 1550 rpms I'm running 233 watts?

Looks very good. My pump is set to 1050 rpm, which is the minimum to make my SWG flow switch work reliably. Before the SWG, I think I had it set to about 900 RPM. I also run the pump at 2400 RPM for a few hours a day to make the skimmers really work.
As a comparison, my old 1 HP pump was 1776 Watts. And I ran it about 14-16 hours a day...10371.84 kWh/year or about $900/yr. Now all of my equipment, pool pump, pool robot, SWG, combine to about $100/yr.

I had cartridges. I have no explanation for liking 1550 RPMs. It skimmed and turned on the SWG just fine at 1200 for several years. One day it just felt better and was still rather cheap. Lol.
Ok need to talk about this again. So @Newdude do you happen to know what you GPM is at 1550rpm?

Not at the moment because we moved. But I’ll be glad to report back in a month or two when my new pump/pool is completed.
I only ask because mine seems really high. Currently have it set to run 37 GPM and so the RPM is at 2626 and my wattage is at 837 watts seems like a lot or is this normal? I'm trying to remember what my old pool was using and I don't remember ever seeing it run this high?? I could be wrong.

No it's a brand new Pentair Intelliflo VSF pump. So what should I try. I have one of these backlog preventer valves in places is this a good one or bad one? I also have a backwash valves for my QUAD DE 100 filter that now makes me wonder if it's even needed or causes head pressure. Where should I start? Oh I also have 2 skimmers that run back on individual 2.5" pipes.

Well, looks like this Crud spring-loaded check valve is what was causing the problem. Look at the difference between before and after removing the spring. I'm going to order a Jandy valve now. The only question is my pipes are 2" PVC. Jandy has a check valve that is 2.5" & another that is 2". There is also a check valve called H2 Flow Controls as I put a screenshot of the 3 below. Does anyone recommend the H2 Flow Control over the Jandy and if there is a specific Jandy part number I need? Thank you for all the help!

You can use both but the 1.5 and 2 inch valve is cheaper

AquaCal the maker of my heatpump said if they ever have to come out to service my unit and I didn't have a check valve at least on the out side between my SWG and heater, then they would void my warranty. Trust me I'd like to get rid of it all together.
