Is SLAM inevitable? (YES...it was...5 Days of stress complete now)

Here is the daily recap to show how I drop down after a SLAM

5/26 26.5 1020pm (0.5 CC)
5/27 26.5 5:30am OCLT PASS AGAIN WOO HOO
5/27 22 11am (0 CC)
5/27 21.5 1pm (0 CC)
5/27 19 6pm (0 CC)
5/27 18 9pm (0.5 CC) after swim

^^^^. And somewhere between 22 and 26 (and above) it drops at a rate of 1+ per hour. 22 and under seem to be much closer to the normal 3-4 ppm per day.

This is fitting right in the above thinking of higher FC=bigger drops...............such a learning experience for all! THANKS for following through

Kim,

I love the core principles behind everything here at TFP

(1) Accurate testing leads to good advice

(2) Help others when you can

If this FC log helps just 1 person when they have a SLAM that will make me happy

You can even sticky this as a learning thread

Everyone here has been kind and generous with their time. Following up to give a complete picture is the least I can do.

Daily recap as I continue to drop after completing my SLAM

CYA 80

5/29 13 550am (0 CC) (had 2 adults and 4 kids in the pool the prior day for 3 hours so i assume some cleanup happened overnight)
5/29 12.5 11am (0 CC)
5/29 9.5 6pm (0 CC) super crazy windy and less sun
5/29 9 9pm (0.5 CC) after swim

Ok this is probably my last one.

I turned the SWG back on and will be trying to dial it in. Goal is to keep my FC between 7-9 from here on out

Also time to balance my other chemicals now that I can get accurate PH readings again

FC PH TA CYA CH Temp CSI
5/30 8.5 7.8 110 80 400 88 0.42 930am (1 CC) SWG on 50% added 1/2 gallon MA
5/30 8.5 7.5 5pm (0 CC)
5/30 9 930pm (0.5 CC) (rained today and I found a dead lizard on the pool bench...I blame them for CC)

Once again thanks to everyone who went through this roller coaster with me

It was reassuring to know I wasn't completely alone during the SLAM
